Let Your State Legislators Know!

South Carolina's independent colleges and universities are asking for your help in conveying our grateful appreciation for state supported scholarships and grants for higher education.

The State of South Carolina provides student financial assistance through a variety of programs. Recipients of the Palmetto Fellows, LIFE and Hope Scholarships are able to use these awards at independent institutions.  In addition, the Lottery Tuition Assistance Program makes funds available at our independent two-year institution.

In particular, we want to say a special thank you for the SC Higher Education Tuition Grants Program, which provides over 12,000 need-based grants to undergraduate South Carolina residents attending independent colleges and universities in our state.

Without the scholarships and grants, our students could NOT afford the cost of higher education. We encourage you to write a personal thank you letter to your state legislators and encourage them to increase financial support for students, and in particular, the SC Tuition Grants Program.
