SCICU News & Notes are a series of online newsletters that include updated information about our 20 member colleges and universities. Our News & Notes also include up-to-date articles about certain legislation that may affect funding for our member institutions.

In addition to recognizing the many donors, friends, and partners who have given so generously to SCICU for scholarships and programs, the annual report states the organization’s audited financial condition for the September 1, 2016 to August 31, 2017 fiscal year, salutes the SCICU McLean-Smith Student of the Year and the Excellence in Teaching award winners, and celebrates SCICU’s accomplishments during its 64th year of promoting independent higher education.

Elliott Davis LLC performs annual audits of SCICU’s financial statements. The annual audit results in a report that includes a statement of revenues, expenses, and changes in net assets along with information about investments, contributions, gifts, and awards.

SCICU, recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, is required to annually file IRS Form 990. The IRS Form 990 is a publicly-available tax return that non-profit organizations file annually to document revenues, expenses, governance, and business and charitable activities.
