Coker College’s Honors Program Partners with Greenville Technical College

October 3, 2017 By SC Independent Colleges & Universities

coker-logoHARTSVILLE, SC (courtesy coker.edu) — Coker College has partnered with Greenville Technical College (GTC) to assist GTC honors program graduates with an easy transfer to Coker College’s honors program, including transferring all degree course credits, a $1,000 per year scholarship, and eligibility to receive up to $2,500 to apply toward a study abroad experience. The GTC agreement is the first agreement that Coker College’s honors program has established with another institution.

GTC honors program graduates with any degree or concentration can transfer their credits directly to Coker College’s honors program, giving students two years of completed course requirements toward their bachelor’s degree. GTC honors program students will come in as junior honors program students at Coker. GTC honors program graduates will attend classes on Coker College’s main campus in Hartsville, South Carolina, to complete their bachelor’s degree.

“Greenville Technical College has an excellent honors program and I am excited to welcome their graduates to Coker,” says Jennifer S. Borgo, director of the honors program at Coker College. “I will work with any interested students from Greenville Technical College before they arrive at Coker to aid in their transition.”

“Having had the opportunity to meet the GTC Honors staff and to sit in on classes, I know first-hand the exceptionally engaging approach they take to undergraduate honors education,” says Tracy Parkinson, vice president for strategic partnerships at Coker. “I am very pleased to now have the opportunity to introduce those students to an equally exceptional program at Coker.”
