SCICU Research Symposium February 18

January 28, 2016 By SC Independent Colleges & Universities

SCICU member college students will present research project findings at the 2016 Research Symposium on February 18, 2016 at Milliken & Company corporate headquarters in Spartanburg.

Students, with the guidance of faculty members, submitted research proposals to the grant competition in early 2015. Thirty-two research projects from 12 SCICU member colleges and universities were awarded grant funding in the competition. These research projects involved more than 30 undergraduate students and more than 30 faculty members at SCICU member schools.

SCICU donors generously provided more than $98,000 in funding for these student research projects. These donors include the following:

Belle W. Baruch Foundation
BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina
Joan S. Coker
The Daniel-Mickel Foundation
Milliken Foundation
Mills B. Lane Memorial Foundation
Debbie S. Nelson

A list of projects awarded funding is available online in the SCICU 2015 Annual Report and separately in the SCICU Student/Faculty Research Program List.

Results from the February 18 Research Symposium will be available following the event.
